ADHD EVALUATION & MEDICATION MANAGEMENT IN COLORADO
ADHD care that looks beyond distractibility.
Thoughtful, whole-person ADHD evaluations and future medication management for children, teens, and adults throughout Colorado via secure telehealth.
Psychiatric services anticipated July 2026 following licensure, credentialing, and applicable regulatory requirements.
FOCUS • FUNCTION • CLARITY
When focus, motivation, organization, or follow-through feels harder than it should.
ADHD is not simply “not paying attention.” It can affect emotional regulation, time management, task initiation, school, work, parenting, relationships, sleep, and self-confidence.
At Welch Psychiatric Group, ADHD care begins with understanding the whole story — symptoms, development, stress, sleep, anxiety, trauma, mood, medical history, family history, and daily functioning.
WHO WE HELP
ADHD can look different at every age.
Children Ages 5+
Evaluation for attention concerns, impulsivity, emotional outbursts, school struggles, difficulty following directions, bedtime challenges, and family stress around daily routines.
Teens & College Students
Support for procrastination, overwhelm, missed assignments, low motivation, rejection sensitivity, emotional reactivity, anxiety, and academic stress.
Adults & Professionals
Care for high-functioning adults who may appear successful while privately struggling with disorganization, burnout, task completion, restlessness, or inconsistency.
COMMON SIGNS
ADHD may show up as more than poor focus.
Many people seek ADHD evaluation after years of feeling lazy, scattered, overwhelmed, too sensitive, careless, or unable to meet their own potential.
- Difficulty starting or finishing tasks
- Chronic procrastination or time blindness
- Forgetfulness, disorganization, or losing things
- Restlessness, impulsivity, or feeling internally driven
- Emotional reactivity or frustration intolerance
- Burnout from constantly overcompensating
- Feeling capable but inconsistent
THE DIFFERENCE MATTERS
Not every attention problem is ADHD.
Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, sleep problems, substance use, thyroid concerns, learning disorders, bipolar disorder, life stress, and burnout can all affect concentration. The goal is not to rush to a label — it is to understand what is driving the symptoms so care is safe, appropriate, and effective.
Anxiety vs. ADHD
Worry, perfectionism, avoidance, and racing thoughts can interfere with attention and follow-through.
Trauma vs. ADHD
Hypervigilance, emotional flooding, sleep disruption, and nervous system activation can mimic ADHD symptoms.
Mood vs. ADHD
Depression and bipolar-spectrum symptoms can affect motivation, energy, impulsivity, and concentration.
Sleep vs. ADHD
Poor sleep can cause inattention, irritability, forgetfulness, and difficulty regulating emotions.
OUR PROCESS
A thoughtful ADHD evaluation from a whole-person perspective.
Comprehensive Intake
We begin with your story, symptoms, childhood history, school or work concerns, health history, sleep, stressors, and goals.
Screening Tools
When appropriate, standardized ADHD screening tools and collateral information may help clarify symptoms across settings.
Differential Diagnosis
We consider overlapping conditions such as anxiety, trauma, depression, sleep problems, substance use, and mood disorders.
Personalized Plan
Recommendations may include medication management, therapy referrals, coaching strategies, school or work supports, and follow-up care.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Medication may help, but it should never be automatic.
ADHD medication can be life-changing for some people, but prescribing should be thoughtful, individualized, and clinically appropriate.
Options may include stimulant or non-stimulant medication depending on the full clinical picture. Controlled substance prescribing, when appropriate, requires careful evaluation, monitoring, and adherence to practice policies.
Medication care may include:
- Medication education and informed discussion
- Review of prior medication trials
- Monitoring of effectiveness and side effects
- Assessment of sleep, appetite, anxiety, mood, and safety
- Coordination with therapists, pediatricians, PCPs, or schools when appropriate

ADHD FAQ
Common questions about ADHD evaluation and treatment.
Do you treat ADHD in children?
Psychiatric services are anticipated to include ADHD evaluation and medication management for children ages 5+, adolescents, and adults throughout Colorado after services officially begin.
Can ADHD be evaluated through telehealth?
Many components of ADHD assessment can be completed through secure telehealth, including clinical interview, symptom review, rating scales, history gathering, and treatment planning. Some individuals may need additional testing or referral depending on the situation.
Will I automatically receive ADHD medication?
No. Medication recommendations depend on the full clinical picture. ADHD medication may be appropriate for some individuals, while others may benefit from therapy, coaching strategies, school or work supports, sleep improvement, or treatment of another condition first.
Do you prescribe stimulants?
Stimulant medication may be considered when clinically appropriate after psychiatric services begin. Controlled substance prescribing requires careful evaluation, monitoring, and compliance with practice policies and applicable laws.
What if I need help before July 2026?
